DONAUISAR Klinikum

As part of the project management for the DONAUISAR Hospital, numerous renovation and construction measures were supervised at the Deggendorf site, including the pharmacy refurbishment, pediatric clinic renovations, and the construction of a new Medical Care Center (MVZ).

The scope of services comprised fire protection planning and documentation (HOAI service phases 1–4) as well as detailed execution planning and on-site fire safety supervision. A key challenge throughout the project was ensuring the continuous operation of the hospital during all construction phases. Through close coordination with all specialist planners, the individual measures were implemented step by step without disrupting daily operations.

The most complex sub-project was the refurbishment of the existing pharmacy, including its laboratory areas. During the course of the works, significant deficiencies were identified in the adjacent and underlying ventilation plant, which made its upgrading necessary and led to its inclusion in the overall pharmacy refurbishment package.

To develop a cost-efficient fire protection concept that fully complied with all regulatory requirements, the local fire department, an independent fire safety inspection engineer, and the permitting authority were involved in the coordination process from the very beginning.

The gross floor area of this sub-project amounts to approximately 6,000 m².
