Fireproof into the Future

The “IngenieurGesellschaft für innovative Bautechnologie mbH” (GiB) has been distinguished since 2009 for its competent consultancy in all aspects of fire protection. From the initial idea to the realisation of a building, the experts at GiB support their clients in the construction industry. The detailed planning and the secure proof of compliance according to country-specific building regulations form the foundation for every project. This ensures not only compliance with legal requirements but also the long-term safety of building users in practice.
With a new research and development centre, equipped with the latest testing technology such as a small-scale fire oven for component testing and various measuring devices for fire protection and acoustics, GiB also sets new standards in product development and testing.
A striking example of GiB's expertise is their involvement in the Fraport project, one of the largest privately financed infrastructure projects in Europe at Frankfurt Airport. Under the leadership of Thomas Pinta, GiB was responsible for overseeing the quality assurance of fire protection during the expansion of Pier G at Terminal 3. This included handling most aspects of fire safety and building physics planning, as well as their supervision.
Thanks to the early involvement, initiated by the Lindner Group, GiB was able to solve problems preventively and implement the high fire protection requirements during the construction phase or in ongoing operations. This also facilitated a successful inspection by fire protection experts in a time-saving manner.
Other services included the planning of escape and rescue routes, the installation of fire extinguishers, and the creation of fire brigade plans.
